SNL24.com has a vacancy for a Podcast Producer: News and Lifestyle. SNL24.com is the new home for Daily Sun, Soccer Laduma, KICKOFF, TRUELOVE and DRUM. Each brand maintains its own digital home but collectively live on the SNL24.com platform.
Key responsibilities:
(The primary tasks, functions, and deliverables of the role)
- Develop SNL24’s podcasting strategy in conjunction with the brand editors
- Source, record and edit audio for News and Lifestyle podcasts
- Ability to pitch, record, script and edit long form narrative audio stories
- Prepare topic themes and questions for guests
- Develop daily podcasting schedules, focused on premium content creation
- Write accurate scripts, headlines, and text to accompany podcast
- Assist with publishing audio on the SNL24 platforms
- Maintain a strong diary with original story ideas
- After-hours and weekend work will be required at times
- Help with the production / editing of SNL24’s existing podcast series
- Provide guidance and training to multimedia reporters i.t.o. audio recording
- Ensure podcasts are filmed when appropriate
Skills and competencies:

- Good technical knowledge of podcasting equipment
- Excellent communication, elocution, and presentation skills
- Strong interviewing skills
- Ability to edit content for clarity
- Creativity
- The ability to troubleshoot in field environments
Minimum Requirements
Relevant diploma, degree, or experience
At least 2 years’ experience as a podcaster, audio engineer or radio/TV presenter
At least 2 years’ journalistic experience
Knowledge of the podcasting environment
Knowledge of the SNL24 audience and their interests
Proficiency in relevant computer packages and applications
Proficiency in recording equipment
Solid knowledge of social-networking principles and platforms
